When preform temperature drifts, you get haze, uneven stretch, and weak heels. Then you add the downtime for lamp changes, and the losses compound. The interfaces are standard: R7s connectors and dimensions that drop into existing clamps and reflectors. Power runs from 1.5 kW to 3.5 kW per lamp, with 230 V or 400 V options. The tungsten-halogen filaments are tuned to snap back to temperature quickly after the door opens and closes. Why it works in the real world In stretch blow molding, preform surface temperature has to land in a tight band—typically 95–115 °C, depending on resin and bottle geometry. Our heaters start fast and deliver repeatable output, so you keep the heating stable even when line speed changes. Field data on replacements show we can hold ±3 °C across the tunnel with routine calibration, which helps cut thickness variation and lower rejects. Energy use drops in a way you can measure: many plants see a 10–18% reduction in heating-zone kWh after switching to well-matched infrared emitters, because the system isn’t constantly compensating for weak lamps and mismatched reflectors. The details that make the difference Installation is straightforward, but alignment is where people get tripped up. Reflector cleanliness and lamp position directly drive temperature uniformity, so set the focus during changeover and keep reflectors free of dust and drips. Before you order, verify the machine’s lamp rating—voltage and wattage have to match the blow molder’s original spec to avoid control faults. In humid plants, pay extra attention to sealing and terminal insulation, and put a schedule on periodic inspections.
