Power, Voltage, and Size—Why It Matters
The ASB runs at 400V and 2500W, and that’s intentional. You need that punch to get fast heat-up and serious heat density right where the neck heater lives. And the size? 300mm long, 15mm across. That’s not a guess. It’s the only footprint that slips past clamps and molds on every Sidel machine. Anything bigger just won’t fit. Period.
The Inside Story: Halogen, Coating, and a Rock-Solid Connection
Inside, you’ve got a shortwave halogen element inside a quartz tube. That combo gives you a steady, focused infrared beam that gets into the PET preform fast and even. A special reflective coating pushes the heat forward, so you waste less energy and keep internal parts protected. Then there’s the R7s connector. Its bi-pin design locks the lamp into the Sidel socket with zero wiggle. It stays tight, even when the machine is humming and vibrating.
Plug-and-Play on the Floor
On the shop floor, the ASB is the kind of upgrade you install and forget. Wire it up, and it just works. No reprogramming. No adapter plates. It holds steady for the full 5,000-hour service life, which means fewer surprise stoppages. Now, here’s the reality check: packing 2500W into a 300mm tube means your machine’s cooling has to be up to the task. If the heater zone runs too hot, performance dips.
