What actually matters is how pure the quartz is and what’s happening inside that filament. The secret to a long life Think about it. When you flip that switch, the tungsten filament expands. When you turn it off, it shrinks. Do that every single day, and the metal eventually just gives up. To stop that from happening, we use high-purity fused quartz. It’s tough. It takes a beating without warping. But the real magic is the halogen cycle. We add a tiny bit of halogen gas that basically acts like a repair crew, pushing evaporated tungsten back onto the filament. It keeps the wire from getting thin and snapping, which means you aren’t replacing tubes every few weeks. Getting the balance right We design these for direct heat. No fluff. The trick is balancing the wattage and voltage so the heat matches the size of your oven. If you try to jam too many watts into a tube that’s too short, you’re just killing the element faster. They handle heat way better than metal elements, but they hate physical shocks.
