Let’s be honest: most shop floors are running older blow molding machines that just can’t keep up anymore. When the cycle times start lagging, the first instinct is usually to buy a brand-new machine. But that’s a massive expense. More often than not, the real problem is just the heating oven. It’s the bottleneck. If your infrared lamps are worn out or just weren’t built for today’s speeds, swapping them for high-density halogen quartz tubes can completely change the numbers you’re seeing at the end of the shift. It all comes down to heat density. Old machines usually rely on standard quartz tubes with low wattage. They work, but they’re slow. If you want to shave time off your cycle, you have to shorten that heating window. We do this by packing more wattage into every millimeter of the tube. To keep things even, we use specialized coatings on the quartz so the infrared radiation hits the PET plastic exactly where it needs to. As for the install? It’s pretty painless. We use standard R7s or Sk15 connectors, so these are basically drop-in replacements. You don’t have to rip out the wiring in your oven cabinet and start over. You just pull the old tubes out, pop the new ones in, and you’re back in business.
